Silhouette Portraits

Silhouette portraits became fashionable in the late 18th century as a way to quickly capture a person's likeness without them having to sit for hours before an artist. For a more modern take on the medium, I create the silhouette from a profile photograph of you, your pets, or your children and custom design the portrait with decorative papers. $75.00 for an 8x10 oval, $65.00 for an 8x10 rectangle, frame and matte included. Here are some examples of custom painting jobs that I have been commissioned to do. The top image is an accent wall in the bedroom of a home in Deep Creek Lake, MD. It was originally supposed to be wallpaper, but the paper arrived damaged and I re-created it in a faux finish using two paint colors. The bottom four are of a mural in the sitting room of an historic home in Kingwood, WV.
